Junior Gay Wolfe

Junior Gay Wolfe, 90 of Tunnelton, passed away Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Kingwood, son of the late Simon Frances and Etta Braham Wolfe.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highway’s as a mechanic and welder with over 40 years of service. Junior was a member of the VFW Post 2345 in Tunnelton. Junior enjoyed mowing his grass, being outdoors, his ponies and tinkering on anything mechanical.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Marie Wolfe, of Kingwood; one son, Michael J. Wolfe, of Moatsville; three grandchildren, Cher Lindquist and Edward, of Morgantown, Christopher Smith and Courtney, of Austintown, Ohio, Ryan C. Thorn, of Glenville; three great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his wife, Nola Rae Wolfe on Sept. 9, 2013, whom he married May 25, 1951; five brothers, Homer, Claude, Ernest, Jim and Gilbert; and two sisters, Lucille and Geraldine.

Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave., Newburg, from 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, until the 7 p.m. funeral service. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, with Pastor Kenneth Turner at Mount View Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Col. Rowan Post 2345, Preston County Chapter 977, Vietnam Veterans of America and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
