Dicie Lewis-King

Dicie Lewis-King, 97, of Cheat Lake, passed away April 20, 2019 during her short stay at Madison House.
She was born in Preston County on Sept. 16, 1921, to the late Albert and Charity Lewis.
Dicie was Pentecostal by faith. She had attended a one-room school house growing up in Pisgah. Dicie and her late husband, William, were in business together in the Cheat Lake area at King’s Country Store, and the Stonehouse Establishment as well as King Coal Co. Dicie enjoyed canning vegetables from their garden and cooking great meals for family and friends. She also enjoyed the company of her chihuahua, Skippy.
Dicie is survived by her daughter, Clara Morgan; son, Donald R. King and wife, Linda H.; three grandsons, Donald Lee King, David Jack Morgan Jr., and wife, Linda, and Michael R. Morgan; one granddaughter, Diane R. Morgan; three great-grandsons, Jared David Morgan, of Texas, William Robert Morgan, of Georgia, Carry Jack Howell, of Cheat Lake; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Brianna Morgan, of Cheat Lake.
In addition to her parents and late husband, William Robert King, Dicie was preceded in death by her son, Harvey Lee King; son-in-law David Jack Morgan Sr.; two brothers, Russell Lewis and Johnny Lewis; two sisters, Ella and Gladys; and infant brother, Carlos. Dicie was the last of her immediate family.

The family would like to thank the staff of Mon Health Medical Center, J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, EMS and Madison House for the care and kindness given to Dicie and her family.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from  1 p.m. Tuesday, until the 3 p.m. funeral service. Dicie will be interred next to her husband, William King, at Zion Cemetery, Over Cheat, Sunset Beach Road, Morgantown.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dicie’s memory to the Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.
