Joshua Layton

Joshua Lee Layton, 30, of Tunnelton, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019. He was born November 27, 1988, in Philippi,  son of Jerry Robert “Jay” Jr and Cynthia Lynn Goff Layton, of Tunnelton.
Josh graduated from Preston High School, Class of 2007. He was a DJ at WKMM Radio Station and Funeral Attendant at Field Funeral Home. Josh was a fifth generation coal miner, working at Leer Mining Complex, in Grafton. Josh’s hobbies were riding dirt bikes, hunting, and  fishing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
His love was his little girl, Willow, whom was his world.
In addition to his parents, Josh is survived by one daughter, Willow Lynn Layton; one sister, Samantha Marie Powell and Anthony, Tunnelton; his nieces and nephews that called him, “Uncle Buh”, Gracelynn, Malik and Zander; three aunts, Regina Bell and Chuck, Tunnelton, Connie Shannon and Curtis, Tunnelton, and Carla Layton, Arthurdale; one uncle, Mark Goff and Loretta, Tunnelton; several cousins; and his loyal and faithful four legged fur baby, Ginger Brandy.
Joshua was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jerry Sr. and Shirley Bolyard Layton; and  maternal grandparents, Tennis and Phyllis Wolfe Goff.
Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St., Newburg,  from noon – 8 p.m. Friday, March 8,  and from 9 a.m. Saturday, March 9,  until time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dan Stottlemyer officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Israel Cemetery.
