Morgantown boys can’t overcome early deficit, fall to Martinsburg 60-53

MARTINSBURG — The Morgantown High boys’ basketball team rallied from a 20-point deficit but couldn’t complete the comeback, falling to Class AAA Martinsburg, 60-53, on Monday evening.

After being outscored 23-6 in the first quarter, the Mohigans actually outscored Martinsburg 47-37 the final three quarters, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.

Cam Selders led Morgantown (11-9) in scoring with 14 points and Nick Malone finished the game with 13.

The Mohigans will play again at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday against Parkersburg.
