Preston struggles in 81-45 loss to Martinsburg

KINGWOOD — Preston struggled to make shots and therefore was no match for Martinsburg, losing by a score of 81-45.

Martinsburg jumped out to an early lead, outscoring the Knights 32-18 in the first half, and continued to pour it on in the second half.

Preston (4-14) didn’t have a double-digit scorer in the game, but Austin Metheny and Nick Smith led the Knights in points — each scoring nine.

Preston will play again at 7:30 p.m. on Monday against Robert C. Byrd.
