5 Preston teachers receive technology mini grants

KINGWOOD — Five Preston County teachers received this year’s technology mini-grants.
Rebekah Stump, Sara Jones, Robin Hagedorn, Claire Jones and Courtney Everline were honored at last week’s Preston County Board of Education meeting.
The grants of up to $5,000 each are given  by the Preston County Schools Technology Department. They are funded through district Step 7 technology funding.  Teachers can request funding for equipment and/or training related to instructional technology.
The grant program started in 2015-‘16.
Stump, of Bruceton School, was awarded a classroom kit of VEX IQ robots.  Claire  Jones teaches at Aurora and Rowlesburg. She will receive five Osmo cases with covers, along with five iPads and Apple Pencils.
Hagedorn, of Bruceton School,  will receive  five laptops to assist in moving her classroom towards a one-to-one environment. Sara Jones, of West Preston School,  will receive  five Nikon D3400 camera kits to use in a school photography course.
Everline, also of Bruceton School,  will receive  two iPads and three Osmo educational game apps.
