Corey Pyles leads Knights; moves up school’s scoring list

KINGWOOD — Corey Pyles poured in 26 points, including four 3-pointers and he moved into fifth place on the school’s all-time scoring list along the way with 796 career points, as the Knights took down Liberty Harrison on Thursday, 85-75..

He had plenty of help from teammate Nick Smith, who added 19 points and Monte Rebelo added 16, as the Knights (4-9) took a commanding 49-28 halftime lead.

Liberty (3-10) was led by Chance Howell, who also had four 3-pointers and scored 27 points. The Mountaineers connected on 12 3-pointers for the game.

Preston will travel to Lincoln, at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
