John Masters Sr

John Lee ‘Red’ Masters, Sr., 77, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, at his home.  He was born February 25, 1941, in Lorain, Ohio, a son of the late Robert and Ann Rogers Masters.
Red is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Carol Masters; sons, John Masters and wife Robin, Ronnie Masters and wife Lois, Donnie Masters and wife Theresa; grandchildren, Thomas Briniger, Barry Nicholson, Jr., Clint Masters, Rebecca Masters, Tyler Masters, Justin Masters, Nathan Kennedy, Coty Kennedy, Brianna Kennedy, Devin Masters, Joy Childs, Patrick Wolfe, Joshua Wolfe; great-grandchildren, Chase, Hollan, Abigail, Jordan, Parker, Audrey, Aubrey Jo; sister, Carolyn Medford and husband Dane; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joann Nicholson; father-in-law, Charles Davis; mother-in-law, Evelyn Davis; and brothers-in-law, Charles Davis, Hayward McCauley.
Red worked for CONSOL at the Osage Coal Mine and retired in 1995, and later worked at FMC.
In his spare time, Red was an avid hunter, loved riding 4-Wheelers, working on cars, and spending time with his family.
Red and his wife were inseparable for 58 years.  They enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales.  They also drove to Cool Springs Park, frequently, just to enjoy some food together.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Morgantown Hospice for all of the kind care shown to Red.
Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 5 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16,  and from 10 a.m.  on Thursday,  until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lisa Crone officiating.  Burial will follow at Halleck Cemetery.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home, or donations may be made in Red’s memory to Morgantown Hospice 3596 Collins Ferry Road Suite 250 Morgantown, WV 26505.
