Kathleen Spak

Kathleen Spak, 72, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, with her loving family surrounding her as she went to heaven. She was born March 29, 1946, in Fairchance, Pa., a daughter of the late John Edward Swaney and Sarah Anne Stickovich Swaney.
She was a retired registered nurse with over 40 years experience. She loved traveling and her passion took her to many places around the world. Her biggest passion was her family. She was a selfless loving mother, grandmother, sister , and friend to all who knew her. A deeply faithful person, it was by Gods grace he chose to take her home on Christmas Eve.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, John William Groover and James Steve Spak and her sister and best friend, Carole Speer.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Jennifer K. Groover, of Morgantown, Amber J. Wolfe (Harmon), of Morgantown, Jamie M. Stephens (Edward), of Moorehead, Ky., and Marianne Varner (John), of Morgantown; a brother, John Edward Swaney Jr. (Kristine Fowler), of Fairchance, Pa.; two sisters, Nellie Budinsky (Anthony), of Fairchance, Pa. and Shawn Howell, of Morgantown and two grandchildren, Katie A. Groover, of Morgantown and Grace Wolfe (Jack), of Morgantown.
There will be no public services per Kathleen’s request.
