ELKINS — Preston High dropped its season opener to Elkins 66-45 on Tuesday evening.
The Tigers caught fire from beyond the arc — making eight 3-pointers in the game and scoring 35 points in the second half.
Nick Smith was the leading scorer for the Knights (0-1) with 17 points and Monty Rebelo had 14.
Preston will play again at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at Capital.
