Roger Dale Hinkle

Roger Dale Hinkle, 72, of Fairview, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2018.
He was born in Scarbro on May 4, 1946, son of the late Roy Hinkle and Gladys Pennington Hinkle.
Roger was a past member of the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department and Lions Club. He served in Vietnam and in the 201st Infantry in Desert Storm. He was employed as a mine inspector for the state of West Virginia. He enjoyed riding his Harley, playing cards with his friends and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his wife, Catherine “Kitty” Johnson Hinkle; his children, Amy Bell and her companion, Gary Williams, Steven Hinkle, Brenda Hinkle and Thomas Hinkle; grandchildren, Deidre Bell, Morgan Beach and her husband, RJ, Derek Hinkle and his wife, Kali, and Shayne Hinkle and his fiancée, Chloe Smith; great-grandchildren, Beau, Judson and Orion Beach; and siblings, Marvin Hinkle and wife, Wanda, Eleanor Jarrell and her husband, Bill, Barbara Snipes and her husband, David, and Karen Adams and her husband, Barry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Hinkle, Darrell Hinkle, Kenneth Hinkle, Roy Wayne Hinkle, Edward Hinkle and Joyce Stover.
The family will receive friends at the Pumpkin Center Church of Christ, in Fairview, from 1-8 p.m. Thursday, and from 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, until the noon funeral with Evangelist Ben Jones officiating. Interment will follow at West Virginia National Cemetery, in Graf-ton, with full military rights by the Marion County Honor Guard.
