Ricky Nelson Jr.

Ricky Lee Nelson Jr, 28, of Newburg,  passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born on March 22, 1990, in Kingwood, son of Ricky Lee Nelson Sr and Tracy Renee Hovatter, both of Newburg. Ricky attended Preston High School. He worked in construction and most recently  at Winters Construction.
Ricky loved fishing, hunting, movies, video games, working out, riding ATV’s and dirt bikes.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Candy Elaine Robinson Nelson; three children, Sirus Alexander Tackett, Isaiah Joel Nelson, both of Newburg, Kaylie Marie Collins, Terra Alta; three sisters, Britanny Horton and companion, Zachary Stowers, of Morgantown, Tyla Gribble and husband, Jeremy, of Howesville, Samantha Nelson, of Newburg; six nieces and nephews, Raelynn, Allyanna, Coleton, Dustin, Brayden and Traylen;  maternal grandmother, Linda Taylor Hovatter, of  Masontown; maternal grandfather, Michael Hovatter and wife Donna, of  Masontown; paternal grandparents, James and Linda Akers Nelson, of Tunnelton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ricki and Bill Cogar, Raven Hershman, Walker Hershman and Hunter Hershman; father-in-law, Rick Robinson; best friend of 20 years, Justin Moats, of Tunnelton; and  several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Ricky was preceded in death by his three cousins, Jennifer and Amanda Nelson, Joshuia Winters; mother-in-law, Melissa Hershman; paternal great-grandparents, Samuel and Madeline Miller Nelson, James and Susan Plum Akers; maternal great-grandparents, Clarence and Ida Quinn Hovatter, Orian and Nellie Menear Taylor.
Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, in  Newburg, from 3 – 8 p.m. on  Friday, October 12,  and from 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 13,  until time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kelley Gamble officiating.  Burial will follow at the Shay Chapel Cemetery.
