Mary Moore

Mary Jeanette Bussard Moore passed away peacefully at her home on September 16, 2018.  Mary Jean was born in Marlington on October 29, 1925, to Anna Dever and Clyde Gibon Bussard.
Mary Jean worked for WVU as the Executive Secretary to the Dean of Drama at the Creative Arts Center for many years, a job and location that she dearly loved.  She was an exceptionally talented woman, as an accomplished vocalist both with Morgantown Music Club Choraliers and Spruce Street United Methodist Church.  Mary Jean was an award-winning artist in oils, watercolor, and acrylics as well as a very skilled and creative seamstress and clothing designer.  No creative challenge was too great for her.
She had a great love of the outdoors, especially Coopers Rock, where she and her late husband walked many a trail and out walked many younger hikers.
Mary Jean was preceded in death by her late husband of 60 years, Albert Sidney Moore; sisters, Francis Bussard and Katherine Smith; brother, Clyde Bussard and wife Emily; and son-in-law, Joseph Hartman.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth Douglas Moore, Mathew Dennis Moore, and Erin Hartman; grandchildren, Michael Hartman, Katie, Patrick, Emily, Jessie, Evan, Anna, and Clair Moore, and Sarah Paul and her husband Andrew; and great-grandchildren, Austin Hartman, Harper Miller, and Ana Jean Paul.
Many thanks to Companion Care, especially Kayla and Ashley, for their care and friendship for the last few years.
A memorial service will be held in Mary Jean’s honor at Spruce Street United Methodist Church at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Mary Jean’s name to the Morgan
