One man killed, several others injured in Grafton Road crash

MORGANTOWN — One man was killed and several others were injured in a head-on crash that occurred just past midnight Saturday, on Grafton Road.
According to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department, Timothy J. Snyder, 40, of Grafton, was traveling south on Grafton Road when his 1970 Chevrolet truck went left of center, striking a Ford Edge.
Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Edge, Allison Root, of Fairmont, was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Her passengers, Bryan Hart, 27, of Morgantown; Vaugh Trimble, 25, of Morgantown; and Matthew Abraham, 27, of Fairmont, were also transported to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

WVU Medicine spokesperson Amy Johns said Trimble is listed in fair condition and the others involved are not listed as patients Monday afternoon.
Grafton Road was closed for about 5 hours, while deputies investigated.
Clinton District VFD, Triune-Halleck VFD and Mon EMS also responded.
