Georgia law enforcement: Missing woman’s remains found dismembered in separate trash bags

MORGANTOWN — Law enforcement in Georgia are investigating whether the remains of a woman found dismembered in a landfill can be identified as a woman missing from West Virginia.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, the Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton said the remains belong to a missing woman from West Virginia.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office has yet to confirm this. A call for comment has not been returned.

A sanitation worker found the woman’s remains, dismembered and in separate trash bags, on Aug. 13 while emptying a trash compactor at the Bartow County landfill.
