Clyde Moore

Clyde Raymond Moore, 82, of Rivesville, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2018, after a short illness.  He was born October 1, 1935, in Rivesville,  a son of Walter S. and Emma Rice Moore.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Elizabeth Brock Moore.
Mr. Moore was a retired employee from Jacobs & Hutchinson Hardware.  He was a longtime member of Highlawns United Methodist Church.  Clyde was a founding member of the Rivesville Parent Youth Association and a member of the Rivesville Volunteer Fire Department.  He found great joy in attending auctions and sharing his treasures with family and friends.  He looked forward to sharing stories with friends over coffee at the East Fairmont McDonald’s Restaurant.
He is survived by a son, Ray Moore, of Rivesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Bill Napalo, of Parkersburg;  and a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Melanie Moore, of Rivesville;  nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by an infant brother, Russell Lee Moore; a teenage brother, Walter Virgil Moore and two sisters, Dortha Drake and Hazel Metz.
Clyde’s family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Mon Health Medical Center.

The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, in Rivesville, from 1 – 8 p.m. on  Wednesday, August 22, and from 10 – 11 a.m. on  Thursday, August 23, with the funeral service to follow with the Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating.  The committal service will follow in the McCurdysville Cemetery, in McCurdysville.
