Success may depend on how we treat visionaries

Donna Weems, Morgantown
I was disturbed by the news that City Council member, Mark Brazaitis, has been criticized by members of the council and community and then relieved of his teaching duties at WVU’s College of Arts and Sciences.
I know Brazaitis’ work as a professor, writer and as City Council member. I can honestly say that he works very hard on the issues that he truly believes to be important and consistently does an excellent job.
Although his words and actions may be difficult for those who do not share his beliefs, I believe in the end, our community’s future success may hinge on how we treat our visionaries.
