Granville and Westwood Middle School now Partners in Education

MORGANTOWN — Granville is now a Partner in Education with Westwood Middle School.
Westwood Middle School Parent Teacher Organization treasurer Karen Angelozzi discussed some ways Granville could be a Partner in Education with Westwood Middle School at a recent Granville town council meeting.
“Being a Partner in Education could be as simple as coming to some of the events up at the school or displaying some of the kids’ artwork or poetry at city hall,” Angelozzi said. “It could also be financial support.”
Council decided to sponsor Westwood Middle School for one year by purchasing a $500 banner for the football field.

The Westover Rockets youth football team, including kids from 3-6 grade, reached out to Granville for donations so the team can have more practice equipment and an end-of-season banquet.
“I’ve also reached out to BW3 to see if they’ll have a donation night for them,” said Chief of Police Craig Corkrean.
Council postponed its decision until the next meeting.
Council passed the first reading of an ordinance to accept Sesame Drive as a town street.
Council also passed the first reading of the zoning ordinance.
Council ultimately decided to leave the current sign ordinance as is.
