Charles Comer

Charles Elsworth Comer, 87, of Morgantown, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, in Morgantown.
He was born on December 22, 1930, in Luray and was a son of the late Luther Lee Comer and Lula Mae Finter Comer.

Charles retired from Allegheny Power System, Fort Martin Power Station in 1988, as Operations Superintendent and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

His most enjoyable moments in life were spent in the outdoors. He enjoyed many fishing trips to the Lac Kipawa Region of Quebec, as well as an annual elk hunting trip to northern Colorado. He was especially proud of his two grandsons, Bryen and Braden Comer.

On April 17, 1958, he married Jean Ramsey Comer, who died on October 14, 2017.
He is survived by a son, Michael Comer and wife Carla, of Fairmont; two brothers, Carroll and Roger Comer, both of Luray; and two grandsons, Bryen and Braden Comer, both of Fairmont.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joann Manuel and Maxine Vaughn; and three brothers, Pete, Allen and James Comer.
The family will receive friends at the Bradley Funeral Home from 7-8 p.m. on Friday, August 17.
A graveside service will be conducted at the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 18 by the Rev. Erich Bennett, with military honors by the VFW Comer-Jones Post 621 of Luray.
