Tunnelton man charged with operating a clandestine drug lab

KINGWOOD — A Tunnelton man was charged with operating a clandestine drug lab this week.
Bond was set at $100,000 for Donald Ray Moats, 39. According to a complaint by Preston Sheriff’s deputies:
On Monday Moats was stopped while driving a Ford Ranger. The deputy found a plastic bag containing the components of a meth lab, referred to as a “one pot,” in the bed of the truck. He called in a certified clandestine drug lab technician, who verified the bag contained the precursors for making meth.
Moats told the officers he, “knew about the lab when it was located at the residence [where] he was staying but denied knowing it was in the back of his truck.”
