Reedsville man charged with battery and littering

KINGWOOD — A Reedsville man is charged with battery and littering after police say a dispute arose over whether he threw beer bottles onto someone’s lawn.
Mitchel Ray Funk, 44, was free on $5,000 bond after being charged this week with the June 28 incident.
According to the criminal complaint by Preston Sheriff’s Capt. J.L. Root Jr.: Steve Polce of Q Road, Arthurdale, said Funk threw beer bottles into Polce’s yard as he drove by on a tractor. Polce located Funk and tried to return the empty bottles.
Funk struck Polce in the face multiple times but said he only hit him because Polce “raised his hand” to Funk. Funk said he didn’t throw the beer bottles but a few may have “rolled off” the tractor. There were marks in the area of Polce’s face, and Tracy Polce corroborated his story.
