Levonna McNair

Levonna Eloise McNair, 87, of Arthurdale,  passed away July 13, 2018, at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 22, 1931, in Fairchance, Pa., daughter of the late Harry I. McNair and Lova Michael McNair.
Growing up in Arthurdale, Eloise graduated from Arthurdale High School and Morgantown Business College, where she was a member of the Phi Rho Zeta National Honor Society.
An active member of the community, Eloise belonged to the Community Presbyterian Church of Arthurdale where she sang in the church choir, served as an elder for six years and was on several committees. Most recently she attended Broadus Memorial Church during her stay in Charlottesville, Va., where she proudly sang with the Senior Singers. She was also a member of the Arthurdale Extension Homemakers, Arthurdale Women’s Club, Arthurdale Heritage, and sang in the church choir at the Masontown Church of the Nazarene. She retired in July 1996 after 43 years of service as an Office Administrator in the West Virginia University Chemistry Department (Eberly College of Arts and Sciences).
Eloise will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Carol Hood, of Charlottesville, Va.; brothers, Donald McNair, of Dearborn MI and Eugene McNair, of Akron, Ohio; special niece, Linda (Charles) Ault; nephews, Roger Wolfe, Jim and Tom Kelly; great-nieces, Vivien Ault, Veronica (Iain) Andrews, Christy McNair and Erica Wolfe; great-nephews, David McNair, Michael and Matthew Hood, and Nicholas and Hunter Hood.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Betty (Blaney) Lee, Vivian (McNair) Wolfe, and Frances June Kelly; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Garlitz) McNair and Ludella (Pugh) McNair; nephews, Stephen McNair, Larry Wolfe, David Hood and Mark Hood.
Friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m. on  Tuesday, July 17 and at the Community Presbyterian Church of Arthurdale from 10 – 11  a.m. on  Wednesday, July 18, with the funeral services to follow   with the Rev. Steven Lightner officiating. Eloise will be laid to rest at the Arthurdale Cemetery.
