Morgantown hires new assistant city manager

MORGANTOWN — Emily Muzzarelli will be Morgantown’s next assistant city manager.
She was among 65 applicants vying for the position vacated by Angela Cline, who resigned earlier this year after 10 months on the job.
Muzzarelli will start on July 9 and earn a salary of $103,435 annually.
According to information provided by the city, Muzzarelli holds a master of science degree in civil engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
Since 2015 she has worked for the WallacePancher Group, an engineering and environmental firm based in Pennsylvania.
She worked as an engineer and project manager there, overseeing multimillion-dollar design and construction projects and handled permitting efforts for the Rapid Bridge Replacement Program.
Muzzarelli has also worked as a civil engineer for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
“I am thrilled to have Emily join our executive management team,” City Manager Paul Brake said, according to the press release. “I look at the strengths in her background as contributing greatly to infrastructure improvements and capital projects that the City has planned.”
Muzzarelli lives in the Morgantown area with her husband and daughter.
