Trina Moore

Trina Marie Moore, 46, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, May 26 at JW Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born July 2, 1971, in Fergus Falls, Minn., a daughter of Marvin Richard Westvig and the late Virginia Jean Shearon Westvig.

Trina graduated from Fergus Falls High School, earned her B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Montana State University and earned her Masters Degree in Deaf-Communication Disorders from Utah State University. She taught public school in Amesville, Ohio and at North Elementary in Morgantown.
She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church in Morgantown. Trina was an avid fan of the WVU Women’s Basketball and Soccer teams. She was a volunteer for the Club Mountaineer Aquatics and Morgantown High School swim team. Trina had a passion for teaching, family, but most of all making people smile.

In addition to her father, Trina is survived by her husband, Robert “Boomer” Moore and their children, McKenna and Mason Moore; her siblings, Tracy Harthun and Martin Westvig and many cousins.

In addition to her mother, she is  preceded in death by her uncle, Robert Westvig.

The Family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the WVU Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at PO box 9300, 1 Medical Center Drive, Morgantown, WV 26506-9300. Checks can be made to the WVU Foundation with “Comfort Fund” in the memo line. 100% of the donation goes to help families that are in need.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m.,  on Monday, June 11, with the memorial service to follow with the Rev. Charles May officiating.
