Preston grand jury indicts 10; charges include murder, bank robbery

KINGWOOD — Murder and bank robbery were among the indictments charged by the Preston County Grand Jury this week.
The grand jury handed down 10 indictments Tuesday. That’s 52 less than were handed down by the March grand jury.
Joseph Edward Harrison, 26, of Kingwood, was indicted on a charge of first-degree murder in the May stabbing death of his estranged wife, Kimberly Harrison, 27. At a preliminary hearing last month, a Preston Sheriff’s deputy said it had been, “a domestic violence relationship,” for some time.
Harrison is also charged with felony domestic battery.
Police said two eye witnesses saw Harrison stab Kimberly at Rhodeheaver Trailer Court in Kingwood. He fled and was later arrested in the Manown area. He is lodged in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of $1 million bond.
Dustin Albert Bohna, 37, of Hiller, Pa., was indicted on a charge of bank robbery for the robbery of the Kingwood BB&T. Bohna was arrested last month by Monongalia County police, who charged him with robbing the United Bank in Sabraton on Jan. 11 and the Sabraton BB&T on April 13.
During the course of their investigation, Morgantown Police noted that the Kingwood BB&T was robbed March 13 by a suspect who wore an outfit similar to that worn by their robber in April and who was similar in description.
Bohna is in the North Central Regional Jail on the Mon County charges.
Also indicted was Dewayne Watring, 51, of Rowlesburg, on one charge of child abuse resulting in injury. According to a criminal complaint, Watring, who is in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, confessed to assaulting a child up to 100 times over 12 years.
Other indictments were:
— Henson, John Richard, 35, of Aurora, child abuse causing bodily injury.
— Sypolt, Timothy R. Jr., 38, of Terra Alta, possession with intent to deliver, two counts, marijuana. At the time of Sypolt’s arrest in November, police said they found 665 grams — nearly a pound and a half — of marijuana in his home and more in his truck.
— Carpenter, Cara Lynn, 28, of Masontown, bringing stolen property into the state, receiving or transferring stolen property.
— Leggett, Wesley Gene, no age of address available, third-offense driving on license suspended or revoked for DUI.
— French, William Ellwood, 42, of Albright, third-offense driving on license suspended or revoked for DUI.
— Lewis, James Edward, 36, of Kingwood, six counts of delivering a controlled substance (Subutex and meth).
— Rider, Robert Alan, 58, of Bruceton Mills, wanton endangerment with a firearm, malicious assault. Police said in a criminal complaint that he shot a woman through the foot in March.
