Lawrence Host

Lawrence R. “Shorty” Host, age 80, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born November 29, 1937, in Thornton,  a son of the late Thomas Host and Carrie Feathers Dalton.
Lawrence had worked as a mechanic at Patriot Mining and   had attended Riverside Apostolic Church for many years. Some of his favorite hobbies were gardening, carpentry, and working on cars.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elvie Moats Host; five daughters, June Craft, of Uniontown, Shirley (Eugene) Moore, of Pt. Marion, Joann Cunningham, of Cross Lanes, Glenna (Michael) Riffon, of Morgantown, and Carla (Jon) Halderson, of Texas; four sons, Robert (Roberta) Host, of Booth, James Host, of Morgantown, Phillip Hos,t of Morgantown, and Lawrence (Heather) Host, of Morgantown; two brothers, Lloyd Hose and David Dalton; 18 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Newlon and Thelma Chanels; three brothers, Gay Host, Lonnie Dalton, and Ray Host and sons-in-law, Berry Craft and Michael Cunningham.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.,  on Saturday, June 2 and from 10-11 a.m., on Monday, June 4,  with the   funeral service to follow  with Pastor William Host officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
