Franklin Bruce Reckart

Franklin Bruce Reckart, 80, of Bruceton Mills, died Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Pine Ridge of Kingwood.
The son of the late Bruce A. Reckart and Faye Reckart, he was born July 25, 1937, in Bruceton Mills (Mt. Dale Community).
Franklin was a Christian by faith and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a former self-employed partner with the Reckart Brothers Mining, enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, watching westerns, country music and family gatherings.
He is survived by a son and his companion, Adam Reckart and Karen, of Cuzzart; three daughters, Moira Konchesky and companion, Bo, of Cuzzart, Heidi Shaver and husband, John, of Bruceton Mills, and Erica Layman and husband, Jim, of Rivesville; two sisters, Geraldine McElroy and Dorothy Miller and her husband, Wayne; a brother, Robert C. Reckart, all of Bruceton Mills; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy J. Reckart, on May 16, 2011; a brother, Melvin Dempsey Reckart; and a nephew, Willie “Botch” Reckart.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, until the 11 a.m. service with Robert “Butch” Readd officiating. Burial will follow at Parnell Cemetery, in Cuzzart.
Following the burial, family and friends are invited to a covered dish meal at the North Preston Senior Center.
