WADESTOWN — The Thrasher Group announced Thursday the acquisition of a Monongalia County-based survey, mapping and engineering firm, making the company one of the largest of its kind on the east coast.

“We are very excited to welcome Blue Mountain into the Thrasher family. Blue Mountain has earned a great reputation in the energy industry and their mapping services are second to none,” said The Thrasher Group CEO Chad M. Riley, PE.

Blue Mountain Inc., established in 1991, is in Wadestown in Monongalia County. A Thrasher rep called the company “a respected consultant for a variety of natural gas, mining and governmental clients throughout the Appalachian region.”
They employed more than 100 people at the time of the acquisition, according to a Thrasher Group rep.
“We are very excited to be able to join forces with The Thrasher Group, Inc. and allow our employees the opportunity to continue working in Wadestown,” said President of Blue Mountain, Doug Six. “We know this will be an excellent opportunity for our employees and clients. The services of BMI and Thrasher are a great compliment to one another and we look forward to a very bright future.”

The acquisition makes Thrasher Group one of the largest survey providers in the region, employing more than 200 survey professionals.
