Adoption event to take place Saturday
Homeward Bound WV will hold an adoption event from noon-4 p.m. Saturday at John Howard Subaru, Mileground Road.

Police to conduct click-it or ticket checkpoint
The Westover City Police will conduct a Click-it or Ticket checkpoint from 3-6 p.m. Friday, on Dents Run Boulevard, and from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, in front of the Circle K. Alternative routes are Route 100, Wheeling Street and Holland Avenue.
Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint from 8 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday on U.S. 119 (Mileground). Info: 304-291-7260.
American Cancer Society hosts ATV Run Saturday
The American Cancer Society ATV Run will be held Saturday, at The Tribute, 1661 Bolyard Road, Bruceton Mills. Registration will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost is $10 per rider and all proceeds will benefit ACS Relay for Life.

Aurora Project to host prominent photographer
AURORA — The Aurora Project provides the opportunity for artists and scholars to live and work in an environment supportive of the creative process.

On Saturday, photographer Bruce Dale will share his stories of over 30 years at National Geographic. Bruce had over 2,000 of his photos in National Geographic, including the 100th Anniversary holographic cover.

On Sunday, Dale will hold a class on smartphone photography.
