One way to help feed the poorest of the poor

Ned Sawyers, West Virginia Knights of Columbus, Kingwood
The Dominion Post published an article titled “Yemeni mothers trying to feed their families” on May 4.
The story told the terrible story of mothers starving to feed their babies and that 30 percent of the children suffer from acute malnutrition. It states that Yemen is the world’s greatest humanitarian emergency.
With the approach of Mother’s Day here in the greatest nation on Earth, we all hurt for those in such need in Yemen and other poor countries around the world. We all remember our mothers and what a great influence they had in making us the persons we are today.
If you would like to help mothers feed their children here in West Virginia and countries around the world, the West Virginia Knights of Columbus Project “Feeding the Poor is Food for Your Soul” through Cross Catholic Outreach provides such a vehicle.
Cross Catholic operates on a 4.5 percent budget — 95.5 (cents) percent of every dollar donated goes to feeding and sheltering the poorest of the poor. The Knights provides all the funds for solicitation.
This project has already provided 4,000 meals to West Virginia food banks and 36,000 to international relief. With your donation, the West Virginia Knights can provide 80,000 more meals. To view this project, go to crosscatholic.org/wvkoc.
To donate, please send your check to Knights of Columbus c/o St. Sebastian Church, 322 E. Main St., Kingwood, WV 26537. Make sure your check is payable to Cross Catholic Outreach and note WVKoC project code UCP18KCWV9021 on the check.
Or if you choose to donate via the web, be sure to note the code UCP18KCWV9021. Your donation will be a blessing to your mother and to the mothers of this world in need.
