William Jasper Arbogast

William Jasper Arbogast, 86, of Kingwood, formerly of Mill Creek, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Pine Ridge Nursing Home, in Kingwood.

He was born July 1, 1931, in Huttonsville, a son of the late Arnold Clark and Pearl Dane (Cutright) Arbogast.

William was a retired correctional officer for the Huttonsville Correctional Center. He was a graduate of Tygart Valley High School, a member of the Mill Creek United Methodist Church and was an Army veteran. William enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janet Carolyn (Skinner) Arbogast; three daughters, Rebecca and Kim Gibson, of Somerset, Pa., Brenda and Stanford Betler, of Kingwood, and Kimberly and Scott Baker, of Elkins; one brother, Terry Arbogast, of Lansdale, Pa.; Ann Agostinelli, of Canonsburg, Pa., and Sandra Sites, of Florida; seven grandchildren, Sean Gibson and Yuko, Connor Gibson, Stephanie Ours and Brian, Ashley Wyatt and John, Nashua Hammer, Brooke Hammer and Laureen Baker; and eight great-grandchildren, Courtney and Justin Knotts, Levi Wyatt, Noah Wyatt, Collin Wyatt, Lucas Wyatt, Kyle Wyatt, Garrett Ours and Cole Ours.

He was preceded in death by one son, William Stephen Arbogast; two brothers, Paul and Neal Arbogast; and two sisters, Rose Skidmore and Ruth Fridley.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel from 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, until the 7 p.m. service with Pastor David Kisamore officiating.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Mill Creek United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19. Interment will be held at Jerusalem Cemetery. Friends may call from one hour prior to the service.
