Hansen already working to diversity economy

Jamie Blake, Westover
Every politician and every candidate says he or she wants to create jobs. Meet the one guy who’s actually been working to diversify the economy and create new-economy jobs.
Evan Hansen is an environmental scientist and small-business owner. The company he founded works across the state to reclaim and redevelop old mine sites; to start new businesses that supply local food to small communities; and to bring new energy jobs to West Virginia.
They work collaboratively with cities and counties, nonprofit organizations and private companies. His work links economic development with natural resource stewardship.
Hansen also works with local water utilities to keep our drinking water clean. Clean water is critical to attracting new industries and workers to the state.
While every candidate will repeat the same lines about diversifying our state economy, Evan Hansen has a proven track record of actually doing it. I know that he’ll bring that same approach to Charleston.
