Prep roundup for April 28, 2018

CHARLESTON — University High’s girls finished third in the 13-team Class AAA meet, with 62 points, just behind second-place Capital (66), on April 28, at the 83rd Gazette Relays.
Parkersburg (109) took the team title.
UHS’s Zoe Shetty finished fourth for high point, with 20 1/2. Teammate Caroline Kirby (18 1/2) was fifth.
High point went to Mikah Alleyne, of Woodrow Wilson.
Friday, Shetty won the 3200 and joined Kirby, Emma Williams and Emma Troischt in winning the 4×800 relay.
Saturday, Shetty took second in the 1600 (5:22.22), with Kirby third (5:35.07). Parkersburg’s Madison Trippett was the winner, in 5:05.39.
Kirby also finished third in the 800, running 2:29.31.
Preston took eighth place, with 27 points. The Knights’ Kirsten Brown added a second place in the long jump (15 feet, 3 1/2 inches) to her second in the shot put on Friday.
In the boys’ AAA meet, Preston placed 11th (21 points) out of 13 teams, with University (1) last.
Trinity’s girls were sixth (23) of nine Class A teams. Reagan Sharp took third place in the shot put (30-7) — she finished third in the long jump Friday — and Shawnee Jenkins (17.7) was third in the 100 high hurdles.
BOYS’ LACROSSE
St. Albans 11, Preston 7: KINGWOOD — Dakota Holt scored five goals and added an assist for the Knights (6-7) on his Senior Night. Fellow senior Jaron Summers added two goals and an assist, and another senior, Tucker Knisell, contributed an assist.
Senior goalie Jeremy Hovatter made seven saves for Preston, which plays at Bridgeport on Monday,
Other seniors on the team include Tony Chandler, Jacob DeVall, Caleb Gribble, Colton Menear, David Bourne, David Reckart, Matt Allen, Alec Cress, Gary Childs, David Childs, Curtis Goodwin.
Morgantown 13, Buckhannon-Upshur 3: Cody Calvert and Nate Goldcamp each scored two goals and nine other Mohigans (11-3) had one apiece against the Bucs (4-7).
Also finding the net were Hazen Powell, Noah Yohn, Mike Jones, Daniel Stanton, Matteo Darmelio, Nate Fielding, Jack Prokopchuk, Ethan Shipp and Daniel Arthurs.
Calvert and Daniel Arthurs each had two assists, and Powell, Yohn, Riley Kane, Jones and Stanton each accounted for one.
Goalie Daniel Pastilong made one save.
Morgantown 12, Bridgeport 0: Cody Calvert and Carter Kline netted two goals each, and goalie Daniel Pastilong stopped two shots in the Mohigans’ (12-3) shutout win over the Indians (2-9).
Noah Yohn tallied two goals and Daniel Stanton, Sam Workman, Robby Kurth and Nate Goldcamp had one each.
Calvert added two assists, while Stanton, Matteo Darmelio, Mike Jones and Goldcamp each tallied one.
Morgantown’s next game is May 5, at University High.
