Morgantown man sentenced to prison for multiple crimes

A Morgantown man is headed to prison after being sentenced for a trio of crimes.

Zachary Spadafore, 25, of Morgantown, previously pleaded guilty to access device fraud, daytime burglary and transferring or receiving stolen property.

He was sentenced to consecutively serve one-10 years behind bars for burglary and transferring or receiving stolen property and one year for access device fraud. That sentence will run consecutively with the other two.

Monongalia County Circuit Court Judge Russell Clawges ordered Spadafore pay restitution in the amounts of $750, $9,683 and $13,055.53 and a one-time $10 payment to the Monongalia County Victim Assistance Program.

Ted Nordstrom, prosecuting attorney, told the court the state recommended Spadafore serve one year in the state penitentiary for the crime of access device fraud, to run concurrent with the other two charges.

Representing the state on the charges of burglary and transferring or recieveing stolen property, Stephen Fitz said the state would not oppose the sentences running concurrently, per the terms of the plea agreement. He recommended one-10 years on both charges and asked the court to order restitution in the amounts request by victim impact statements.

Spadafore, appearing in court in an orange jumpsuit, declined to speak.
