New York man pleads guilty to robbery in Morgantown

W. Va. — A New York man pleaded guilty to using a firearm during a robbery.

Stephan Cotterrell, 21, pleaded guilty to one count of using a firearm during a crime of violence, according to a press release by United States Attorney Bill Powell, U.S. Department of Justice Northern District of West Virginia.

He admitted to brandishing a .22 caliber revolver during a January 2017 robbery in Morgantown, the release states.

Cotterrell faces up to seven years of incarceration and a fine up to $250,000.

The Mon Metro Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, the Morgantown Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated.
