Spark! art program starts April 13

MORGANTOWN — Spark! Imagination and Science Center will host a weekly art program, Young at Art, from 4-7 p.m. Fridays, April 13-July 27. Children of all ages can enjoy Spark’s special hours, the art programs will be geared for children ages 6 and up.
On April 13, come to Spark! for Buon Fresco, where participants will learn about one of the oldest forms of painting, painting on or with plaster.
On the Fridays that follow, participants will have the opportunity to create art that explores a variety of art forms inspired by multiple cultures and artists. Young at Art was made possible by a generous grant through Your Community Foundation and the Tanner Family.
“Young at Art is a chance for kids to create artwork in a variety of ways. We are so excited to give children the opportunity to make their own art while learning about artists, art movements, culture, science and engineering,” said Tiffany Martin, education coordinator at Spark!
The program is free with regular admission. Participants of Young at Art are also welcome to explore the museum’s permanent exhibits. Visit the museum’s website at sparkwv.org, the museum’s Facebook page, or contact Martin at educator@sparkwv.org for more information.
Spark! Imagination and Science Center is in the Mountaineer Mall at 5000 Green Bag Road. Regular admission is $6 per child, $2 per adult. Memberships are available. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Spark! is a funded partner of the United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties.
