Two-vehicle accident sent three people to the hospital

A two-vehicle accident sent three people to the hospital Thursday night.

The T-bone type accident occurred about 9 p.m., at the intersection of U.S. 119 and Exit 152 of 1-79.

Westover Police Chief Rick Panico said a Toyota Tacoma was traveling south when it collided with a Chevrolet Cruz traveling north.

The driver of the Tacoma, Michael Julian, smelled of alcohol and was transported to the hospital for significant injuries, as were his two passengers, Lisa and Warren Masters, Panico said. An open bottle of alcohol was found in Julian’s vehicle, Panico said.

Ralph Grimes, the driving of the Cruz, and three family members, Melissa, Kevin and Jerimiah, suffered minor injuries and were not taken to the hospital.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The accident is still under investigation.

Mon Health EMS, Westover Police and Westover VFD responded to the scene.
