Granville Council discusses difficulties for proposed pothole policy

For The Dominion Post

GRANVILLE — Council discussed this week why a specific written procedure to deal with potholes at University Town Centre would be difficult to do.

“If you want to put a policy in place, it would just be somebody that would be in charge of receiving a complaint by somebody who has had their vehicle damaged by potholes,” Town Attorney Michael Solomon said.

Council agreed that if a policy were to be created, the police department would handle the investigative job and council would ultimately resolve the issue.

“We did take care of one situation because there was a police report to back it up,” Mayor Patricia Lewis said.

On a separate topic, two different bleacher bids were offered to council, one from the Park and Facilities Catalog, at $24,280, and the other from Belson Outdoors, at $35,507.85.

Council will purchase the bleachers at the lower bid from the Park Catalog, if they meet all the right specifications.
