MLA students jump at the chance to help

With a hop, skip and a jump, the American Heart Association has an extra $4,500. And it’s
all thanks to the Morgantown Learning Academy.

About 90 students at the academy participated in the Jump Rope For Heart celebration, a fundraiser for the heart association.

Holly McBride coordinated the event, and she said the children had a great time jumping rope while raising awareness and money for the nonprofit organization, which urges cardiac care.

“They love it, and I love it,” she said. “It’s a great way to raise money for a good cause.”

This is the second year the Morgantown Learning Academy participated in Jump Rope for Heart.

“We had a goal of $3,000 this year, and we surpassed our goal,” McBride said. “We raised about $4,500 for the American Heart Association.”
