I-68 extension bill back on the table

CHARLESTON — The bill that could lead to an extension of Interstate 68 from Morgantown to Ohio is back on the table.

The Senate Transportation and Infrastructure Committee gave SB 295 a thumbs up after a brief discussion Jan. 23 and sent it on to the Finance Committee.

Committee counsel Marey Casey told the members that SB 295, the County Local Powers Act, is essentially unchanged from last year’s SB 210, which passed the Senate 29-5 then died in House Finance.

The bill passed in a voice vote. No one voted no, but not everyone voted yes.
