Prospects aplenty at Morgantown hoops showcase

MORGANTOWN — Ten NCAA Division I and three NCAA Division II recruits will be showcased Dec. 21-22 at the 3rd annual American Homes Morgantown Holiday Classic.

The star-studded boys’ basketball tournament will be headlined by Kobe Brown, an ESPN Top 60 junior guard from Lee High School in Huntsville, Ala.. Brown has offers from over 20 Division I programs, including WVU.

Other teams on display will include back-to-back Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Class A state champion Kennedy Catholic (Hermitage, Pa.) and back-to-back WVSSAC Class AA state champion Fairmont Senior, each with a pair of junior WVU prospects.

Rock Creek Christian (Upper Marlboro, Md.), Shroder Paideia (Cincinnati, Ohio), Woodrow Wilson and host Morgantown will round out the lineup.

The tournament will tip off with Rock Creek Christian playing Shroder Paideia, at 4:15 p.m. today, with Fairmont Senior and Morgantown taking the floor at 6 p.m. Lee and Woodrow Wilson will close out today’s action at 7:30 p.m.

Play will resume at 4:15 p.m. Friday as Woodrow Wilson and Kennedy Catholic square off. Shroder Paideia and Morgantown will take the court directly after, at 6 p.m., and the tournament will finish with a nightcap between Rock Creek Christian and Lee, at 7:30 p.m.
