Sarah Catherine Cox Scardina, of Bruceton Mills, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2026, surrounded by family, after a brief but valiant fight with cancer. She was 57 years old.
Sarah will be lovingly missed by her husband, Robert; sons, Garret and Evan; parents, Gary and Teddi Cox; sister, Megan (William) Zeni; brother, Phillip (Kelly) Cox; and niece and nephew,s Corinne and Sam Zeni, and Lincoln and Cooper Cox.
Sarah loved all people and could talk to anyone; she never met a stranger or forgot a face. She was just as diverse in her appreciation of animals, from doctoring injured moles found in the yard to rescuing cats and dogs of all descriptions.
However, Sarah would tell you that her greatest joy and accomplishment in life was being the mother of her two boys. She loved them dearly and was a devoted mother until her last breath.
A celebration of her life will be held in the near future. McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and has provided cremation services.
