MORGANTOWN — There will be some new premium seating options to watch West Virginia men’s and women’s basketball games soon. The athletic department announced Hope Coliseum will have Loge and Ledge seating for the 2026-27 season. The new seating is expected to be in sections 107-109 for Loge and section 110 for Ledge.
The Loge seating will have in-game food and drink wait service, cushioned swivel chairs, refrigerators, televisions and special cabinetry. The Ledge seating will feature in-game food and drink wait service, cushioned swivel chairs and televisions. Athletic director Wren Baker talked about the concept of these new seating options in the fall. Now, they’ll be coming to the Coliseum in the near future.
“We have been discussing and researching these premium options for some time, and they will be a valuable upgrade to Hope Coliseum,” Baker said. “You will find premium seating like this in all newer arenas, and this gives us a chance to modernize parts of the seating area, while upgrading the viewing experience.”
The Ledge and Loge seating can be purchased up to a maximum of four season tickets. Fans who have met a donation level to WVU athletics will be eligible to participate in the premium seat selection process during the seat and parking adjustment phase later this year. A gift of $50,000 or more (separate from required priority seating contributions and gifted over five years) will meet the requirements to participate in the premium seat selection process. This will also be a part of access to courtside options.
Interested fans are asked to complete a premium seating interest form for the Mountaineer Athletic Club by Monday, April 13.
Baker talked more about the new seating during the WVU Board of Governors meeting in November. He talked about how WVU was lower in the Big 12 when it came to premium seating, and how new options would bring WVU up to the middle of the pack. During the meeting, Baker said the new Coliseum seating is expected to bring an estimated $250-300 thousand of revenue.
Baker also mentioned the lack of premium seating when showing the board new upgrades to the football press box, too. He showed new potential renderings for that project, including the Ledge and Loge seating. That project is expected to take longer and isn’t supposed to be done until 2028.
The Coliseum’s new seating is almost here.
“We have a great home-court advantage, but our fans have asked for additional premium seating options to go along with our courtside seats on the floor,” Baker said. “Loge and Ledge seating is the logical next step, and the feedback from prospective buyers has been very positive.”
