John Barnes Pride lovingly known as "Jack," was born on March 24, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio. As a baby, he moved with his family to Morgantown, West Virginia, where he grew up.

Jack passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 82.

Jack was married and devoted his entire life to his family. He was the son of the late Frances Barnes Pride and Maynard Prince Pride, and was also blessed with a bonus mother, Sue Pride.

He graduated from Morgantown High School and later attended broadcasting school in Boston. He went on to become a disc jockey and provided voice work for capital records and RCA, until he ventured out on his own and started his business "Jack Pride Promotions" where he built a long and successful career as a country music promoter. He spent more than 50 years in the industry before his retirement, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, creativity, and love for music.

Jack had a lifelong passion for photography, especially sports photography--his work was even featured in magazines.

Jack adored spending time with his children and especially enjoyed attending Tennessee Titans games with them. He was also well known for baking the best chocolate chip cookies.

He was remembered as the father who always stepped in and helped--driving children to appointments, taking them on vacations, and making sure everyone was taken care of. He truly had a servant's heart.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Barnes Pride; father, Maynard Prince Pride; brother, Robert Pride; his son, Michael Pride; and his first wife, Connie Lindsey.

He is survived by his daughters: Sharon (Michael) Campbell, Donna (Lance) Shelton, Laura (Casey) Atwood; his sisters Janet Anderson, Amy McNutt, Heidi Mallory; sister-in-law, Sammie Pride. He was a proud grandfather to his cherished granddaughters: Amy Caudle, Dina Calloway, Kelsey Campbell, Kaylee Atwood, and Emma Atwood. Jack also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren; four nephews; and two nieces, all of whom will forever remember him with love and gratitude.

Jack's life was filled with creativity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the people he loved. His legacy of generosity, service, and warmth will continue to live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, August 21 at 11 a.m. at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
