WVU baseball’s final 2 games against Liberty to be doubleheader

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia baseball’s series against Liberty has been altered due to forecasted weather. The Mountaineers’ game Sunday, Feb. 22, has been removed, and now they will play a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 21. The doubleheader will start at 1 p.m.

There are no changes to Friday’s game, which is expected to start at 4 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

This is the third schedule change since WVU’s season started last week against Georgia Southern. The Mountaineers’ three-game series against the Eagles was flexed to have a doubleheader, removing the Sunday game as well. WVU moved its home-opener to Wednesday, Feb. 25, and will now play against Ohio instead of Canisius, who WVU was supposed to play the day before. That game was changed because of the cold weather in the forecast.
