3 charged with alleged drug sales

KINGWOOD — Three people have been charged by state police in connection with alleged drug sales in Terra Alta.

According to  criminal complaints by Cpl. J.T. Wood, he received a tip that illegal drugs were being sold at a 4th Street address. He  went there  at 9:47 p.m. Wednesday.

According to criminal complaints:

Christine Nichol Hanlin, 35, of Piedmont, came outside and tried to throw or hide a small container that held about 2 grams of meth. A search warrant was obtained for the Terra Alta home, which is listed on complaints as Hanlin and Wayne Allen Moyer III’s residence.

During the search, a total of about .6 gram of meth was found divided into several bags, .3 gram of heroin, two digital scales, several empty bags and $747 cash.

 Hanlin said she and Moyer  sold about $200 of meth monthly. She and Moyer were both  charged with felony possession of

 a controlled substance with intent to deliver and conspiracy. 

While being processed at the police office, Hanlin became ill and said she had swallowed a bag of meth. She was taken to Preston Memorial, where she regurgitated the bag. She was in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Friday in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Moyer, 33,  also claimed to have swallowed meth but appeared to be fine. He was in Tygart Valley Friday in lieu of $50,000 bond.

  Jeffrey Vincent Corby was outside the residence. When Corby, 52, of Oakland, Md., took his wallet from his pocket, a bag holding about 1.5 grams of meth fell to the ground. Corby was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
