Gayle Marie Rancjik

Gayle Marie Rancjik, 78, of Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in Morgantown.
Born May 11, 1948, in Morgantown, Gayle was the daughter of the late Oscar Wade and Catherine Patricia Zwilinske Gibson.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward “Ed” Rancjik; sister, Diane Gunter; infant brother, Daniel Wade Gibson; and her beloved dogs, Zoey and Bella.
Gayle is survived by her daughters, Debra Justice and her husband, David of Senoia, Ga., Jennifer Rappa and her husband, John of Framingham, Mass., Katelynn Jagannathan and her husband, Arvind of Morgantown; sister, Betty Schleger; along with her cherished grandchildren, Miranda Doyle, Nathaniel Doyle, Emily Rappa, Jason Rappa, Vincent Jagannathan, Nolan Jagannathan, and Kaiden Jagannathan.
Gayle devoted many years of service as secretary for the Monongalia County Board of Education and Mountainview Elementary School, where she was known for her dependability, kindness, and steady presence. Her work reflected the same caring spirit that she carried into every part of her life.
She was a faithful member of Westover United Methodist Church and took part in the women’s groups and vacation Bible school, where her warmth and dedication were deeply appreciated.
Gayle enjoyed crafting and especially loved making jewelry through her small business, Three Sisters. She also found joy in simple pleasures, including playing Scrabble, reading, watching soap operas, and spending time outdoors when the weather was pleasant. These interests brought her happiness and reflected her creative and thoughtful nature.
Most of all, Gayle loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life, and she treasured every moment shared with them. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around her.
Gayle’s life was marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the many people whose lives she touched. Her loving spirit and gentle heart will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her.
Friends may gather Sunday, July 5, in the Westover United Methodist Church, 28 Noth Street, Westover, from 3 until 6 p.m. and again Monday, July 6, from 10 until the 11 a.m. service time, with Pastor Stacy Chrise-Tritt officiating. Entombment will follow in Beverly Hills Mausoleum.
