WVDOT sets public input sessions for transportation improvement program

The West Virginia Department of Transportation has developed a draft six-year Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan (STIP) covering federal fiscal years 2027-2032.

The STIP is a federally required document that provides the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration a listing of all projects that are candidates for federal aid, or regionally significant projects that are not using federal aid for a six-year period.

The capital improvement plan is fiscally constrained.

WVDOT has scheduled public workshops to allow the public to review information on future federal transportation funding and projects for the six-year period and provide comments on the draft STIP document.

The workshops will be:

July 6 – WVU Transportation Center (1112 Van Voorhis Rd., Morgantown) 5- 7 p.m.

July 7 – West Virginia Division of Highways Headquarters (1900 Kanawha Blvd. E, Building 5, Room 164, Charleston) 5- 7 p.m.

July 8 – Virtual public meeting, 4- 6 p.m. Visit the STIP website at any time during the workshop to access the virtual meeting at: transportation.wv.gov/highways/Programming/STIP/Pages/STIP-2027-2032.aspx

The 45-day public comment period will conclude on Aug. 21.

Comments and questions can be submitted electronically via DOTSTIP@wv.gov or by mail to: Brett Napier or Gary C. Kessell, Programming Division, West Virginia Division of Highways, 1900 Kanawha Boulevard, Building 6, Room 240-B, Charleston, West Virginia 25305
