It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved daughter, wonderful sister and unforgettable aunt. Tracy Lynn Hayes, a fountain of joy and friendliness, left this world peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Bruceton Mills.
Born in Klamath Falls, Ore. on January 17, 1970, Tracy’s infectious smile and boundless kindness defined her 55 years of life; spreading love and joy to everyone around her.
Tracy was the cherished daughter of John and Linda Carol Hayes; and her birth mother, Linda Copley Hayes, graced her life with endless love. Her unwavering bond with her siblings: Kimberly Jane Thaler (James) of Bruceton Mills, John Abram Hayes II (Natalie) of Summerville, S.C. and Cody Burke Hayes of Summerville, S.C., was a source of strength and happiness, as were the joyous times spent with her delightful nieces and nephews: John Andrew Hayes II, Delaney Nicole Hayes, Whitney Caye Hayes, Harper Faith Hayes, John Cooper Thaler, Callie Jane Thaler, Georgia Grace Thaler and Christian James Thaler (Kaitlyn).
Tracy’s family also remembers her loving uncles, William Burke Hayes and Dennis Copley; and aunt, Cheryl Snyder (Ronald).
She was preceded in heritage by her paternal grandparents, John A. and Lorna D. Hayes; maternal grandparents, Leo and Hazel Copley; and great-aunt, Virginia M. Hayes.
Tracy’s educational journey began at Wiles Hill Elementary School, continued at South Junior High School and culminated with her graduation from Morgantown High School. A dedicated employee at Pace, Tracy’s admirable work ethic was evident to all who knew her. She took great pride in her involvement with the Special Olympics, not only for the sportsmanship but also for the community it fostered. As a radiant participant in the Valley Day Program and Stellar Support Services, Tracy’s enthusiasm and perseverance were inspirational.
Beyond her many accomplishments, it was Tracy’s personal passions that most vividly captured the essence of who she was. Her love for Mickey Mouse was matched only by her adoration of carefully chosen purses and sparkling accessories. Family gatherings were made all the more special with Tracy’s presence, as she reveled in the sporting events of her siblings, nieces and nephews. Her melodious voice, often raised in song, will echo in the hearts of those who loved her, leaving a tender memory of a soul so freely expressive.
Tracy’s life was a testament to friendliness, a guiding principle that she embodied effortlessly. To meet her was to be greeted with an open heart and an extended hand of friendship. In every interaction and with every smile, Tracy reminded us of the simplicity and profundity of being truly kind.
As we bid farewell to Tracy Lynn Hayes, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by love, joy, and true connection with others. Her spirit, ever gentle and warm, will continue to shine brightly in the memories of all who were blessed to have known her.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to Stellar Support Services and a special friend, Rhonda Wilson for all of the love and care shown to Tracy.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Tracy’s memory to Stellar Support Services, at 13413 Brandonville Pike Bruceton Mills, WV 26525.
Family and friends are invited to gather in McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 16. Following the service, Tracy will be cremated and later interred at Oak Grove Cemetery, with her grandmother, Lorna Hayes.
