Linda Ellen Fontenot

Linda Ellen Fontenot, 82, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born October 22, 1943, in Liberty, Texas, to the late Ernest and Laura DeRouseau McDonald.
Linda dedicated a remarkable 46 years of her life to serving as a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service. Her unwavering commitment to her work earned her not only the respect of her colleagues, but also official recognition for her dedication and years of service.
Linda was a devoted member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church. She had a passion for animals, especially her beloved cats, and her gentle spirit and charitable nature endeared her to everyone she encountered. Linda’s warm personality and enthusiasm for her job were evident in her conversations, where she often shared stories about her experiences as a postal clerk.
She is survived by her loving children, Michele Oldaker and her husband Roger, Stephanie Gray and her husband David, and Justin Fontenot and his partner Sarah Trump; grandchildren, Travis Gyorko and his partner Madison, and Brandt Frazier, Lindsay Gray, Nathan Gray, Brianna Spino and her husband Nick, and Ethan Trump; as well as a great-grandchildren, Mia Smallwood and Dominik Spino; and sister, Rachel Cook.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Fontenot, as well as her great-grandchild, Aiden Fontenot, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins who had gone before her.

Linda will be remembered for her profound impact on those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity that will surely live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Friends and family will be received in Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Thursday, December 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday, December 19, in St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, from 10 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, S.T.D., as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
